FAQs

Does Resilience Lab accept insurance?

No, the Resilience Lab does not accept in-network insurance. We do not work directly with insurance companies because we don’t believe they provide the comprehensive care we understand is necessary for meaningful improvement. This choice allows us to spend more time with patients during the assessment phase and throughout the course of treatment rather than trying to see as many patients as possible. While we wish insurance companies placed a higher value on our services, the system as it stands is problematic. We are happy to work with you to optimize insurance reimbursement if you do have out-of-network benefits and to help you navigate choices around health insurance plans during open enrollment periods. If there is reason to believe an insurance company is not authorizing appropriate care to you, we will help you in filing complaints to the appropriate entities or in seeking authorization through appeals.

Does Resilience Lab accept out-of-network benefits?

Yes, Resilience Lab is an out-of-network provider. Most PPO plans provide out-of-network benefits which means the insurance company will reimburse you directly for paid services via a check. If you are unsure about your out-of-network coverage, our care coordinator can help you identify your benefits. They will help you determine two items: 1) If your insurance plan offers out-of-network mental health benefits and 2) What your out-of-network deductible is. If you have any questions or concerns about your benefits, please call our care coordinator available 24/7.

What if I don’t have insurance. Can I still see a therapist?

Yes, we accept patients without insurance. Find information on our services and pricing on 1 833 775 6252.

Does Resilience Lab bill for contact outside in-person sessions (ex. phone calls, texts and/or emails?)

No, we do not bill for contact outside in-person sessions unless the contact period exceeds 15 minutes or is a life threatening emergency.

When is payment for each session due?

Payment for each session is due at the time of the visit. Resilience Lab accepts all major credit cards and flexible spending accounts however, we do not accept cash, check or money order.

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you can no longer make your appointment. No shows or visits cancelled within 24 hours will be billed at the full rate. However, we do understand that emergencies happen, so fees can be waived at the clinician’s sole discretion. Please note however that insurance companies do not reimburse for any missed appointments.

What if I’m running late to my appointment?

If you arrive late for your appointment, we will still see you, but we cannot guarantee extra time beyond your scheduled appointment time slot and you will be billed for the full appointment.

Do you provide independent evaluations? How can I obtain one?

If a comprehensive report is requested for a school district, legal matters or for another purpose, we ask that payment be made in full prior to releasing the report. Sometimes these reports are needed urgently. Please let us know if that is the case and we will attempt to work with you in order to meet your deadlines. Billing for independent evaluations is done on an hourly basis or via a flat fee negotiated with the requestor or school district, if they are covering the expense. Contact a care coordinator on 1 833 775 6252  with inquires about obtaining independent evaluations.
